Frank Stopa
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Frank co-founded Discovery Deep with Mohamed Hafez and Kevin Moore in the fall of 2014 with planning to launch its first project, Mapping the Radeau. Since then, Frank has stepped in to become Discovery Deep’s CEO and President of the Board of Directors. He also contributes his time as a diver, photographer, videographer and project manager.

Professionally, Frank is a security and management consultant who’s travelled extensively around the world. He’s written two books in his field entitled, The Human Skills.

On the personal side, Frank enjoys combining his loves for shipwrecks, cave diving and photography when not working or diving for Discovery Deep. He holds several technical diving certifications from TDI as well as the PADI Master Scuba Diver Rating. Additionally, he enjoys writing and has published two novels, The Brotherhood and The Long Winter, intrigues about terrorism and the American Revolution.

Mohamed Hafez
Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder

Mohamed Hafez is an explorer and tinkerer. As a founding member of Discovery Deep, his passion for exploration and dive technology are fused in his function within Discovery Deep as the chief technologist and Virtual Reality guru. Professionally, he is an IT Systems and Network Engineer as well as a Scuba Diving instructor.

His love of technology and diving has him thinking of new ways for divers and non divers alike to experience the thrill of ocean exploration and creative ways of tinkering with and incorporating Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technology to not only digitally preserve historic underwater sites, but make them accessible to everyone in ways never before possible.

Kevin Moore
Co-Founder

Born and raised in Upstate New York Kevin Moore has grown to appreciate the historical stature of his childhood home region. After a tour in the US NAVY he eventually returned to upstate NY with degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering. He now works for Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas in Lake Mary Florida creating and maintaining thermal power plant models.

Kevin began diving in 2003 after completing the YMCA Open Water Scuba course and has logged well over 500 dives, since. He is currently working on his dive master certifications and expects to be certified soon. When not diving Kevin and his wife can be found boating on Lake Monroe near Sanford Florida.
